What does Mitsurugi (御剣) mean in Japanese?

I'm curious to know what this means, literally. I've seen it in anime as a surname and sword technique (Hiten Mitsurugi-ryū "飛天御剣流"). Can anyone please help me? Thank You~

剣 means sword.

御 is to put some polite nuance on 剣.　There is not much meaning.
